Cool Culture, a social justice organization in Brooklyn, called us for an assembly and mailing job. Cool Culture is a BIPOC-led nonprofit that harnesses art and culture to strengthen family and community well-being, and create social and systemic change for a more just and equitable society. They partner with 50,000 families and 400 educators, representing hundreds of NYC schools and child care centers. The already heroic challenges of the education system have hit a new intensity for over two years in the pandemic. Their partners report working in schools with inadequate ventilation, classroom closures, and high stress. To prevent COVID spread, some conduct classes with open windows, even through New York’s cold winters.
With these and many other disruptions to their students and families’ lives, Cool Culture organized Care Packages to send to each educator. They contained items to acknowledge and appreciate the educators’ struggles, including:
- Hand warmers
- Tea bags
- Aromatherapy oils
- Surgical masks for adults and children
- Chocolate
- A printed postcard
At Benchmark, we determined the specs on the envelope, performed the care package assembly, produced the mailing labels to the 400-plus educators, applied the postage and mailed them – in time for a week of resurgent wintry temps.
“The Benchmark team was an amazing partner for this project,” said Annie Lee, Cool Culture’s Director of Communications. “From tracking supply orders to stamps and every logistical challenge you can think of, María and her team were always in communication and followed up with me on each step of the process. I highly recommend Benchmark for future assembly and print needs!”
